How to edit disinformation out of our media? – Public Editor Europe launch (Online)

Alliance4Europe, Goodly Labs, and the UC Berkeley Institute for Data Science warmly invite you to our online launch of a new approach to combatting disinformation, with speakers:

– Saul Perlmutter, Nobel Laureate, sharing the prize in Physics for the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe. He is a professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley.

– AC Grayling, Philosopher and Author, he is the Founder and Principal of New College of the Humanities at Northeastern University.

– Nick Adams, the Director of the Public Editor project and Chief Scientist of Goodly labs.

– Maia Mazurkiewicz, Head of Campaigns at Alliance4Europe (Moderator)

Major events, including the Covid-19 Pandemic, divisive electoral campaigns, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine have significantly increased the spread of disinformation – polarising populations, damaging democracies, and reducing our ability to have a meaningful public debate about urgent social issues.

Public Editor invites you to explore and understand how disinformation works, the impact it has on society, and the steps we can take to counter it.

Public Editor is a new online collective intelligence tool and training course for combatting disinformation, developed with UC Berkeley in the US. (https://www.publiceditor.io/join-us-alliance4europe)

Participants will be invited to join the efforts to combat disinformation with Public Editor and have the opportunity to gain a certificate form UC Berkeley.
